Oklahoma has 85K job openings

Posted online
Oklahoma Secretary of Education and Workforce Development Natalie Shirley announced in Oklahoma City Wednesday the state has 85,000 job openings and not enough skilled workers to fill them.

Job opportunities are growing fast, according to Shirley, who revealed the number during a public forum to address how to develop a better-prepared workforce. Three weeks prior, the governor said the number of job openings was 68,000, according to The Oklahoman.

The higher number is for openings reported in August, with the most openings found in health care, computer technology, finance and truck driving.
