Officials broke ground Monday on the multimillion-dollar Harry M. Cornell Arts & Entertainment Complex in Joplin.
The planned 37,000-square-foot visual and performing arts center is designed with a 470-seat performance hall, outdoor amphitheater and festival plaza.
Project officials already have raised more than $16 million toward a $17.5 million goal.
