Obama says Wall Street reforms have been effective

President Barack Obama said Wall Street reforms enacted early in his presidency “have worked,” according to The Associated Press.

Both Republican and Democratic presidential candidates have criticized Obama’s handling of the 2008 financial crisis after taking the reins in January 2009.

The president said the Dodd-Frank law has protected consumers and the financial system, in general, and critics are spreading “cynicism.”
