Springfield-based OakStar Bancshares Inc., the holding company of OakStar Bank, has appointed a new CEO.
Mike Lawson was tapped to succeed Randy Johnson, the company's longtime CEO who has retired from the company, according to a news release. The transition was announced on social media last month.
Johnson joined OakStar in 2009, first as president, according to past reporting.
“It has been an honor to serve at OakStar and to work alongside a dedicated and talented team," Johnson said in the release. "I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together, and I have full confidence in the strength of the company and believe that the future holds incredible promise.”
New CEO Lawson formerly served as chief lending officer.
"Mike has been with the bank since the beginning and has worked closely with Randy to ensure financial stability and shape the bank's vision and mission," OakStar officials said in the release. "With his deep understanding of OakStar’s operations and commitment to creating extraordinary experiences for customers, Mike is well-positioned to lead the company into the future."
In the release, OakStar also announced the completion of the mergers of First Colorado National Bank and Community First Bank into OakStar Bank, expanding the Springfield company's footprint to 30 locations in Missouri, Kansas and Colorado.
