New York City agreed to pay millions of dollars to protestors who were arrested at a George Floyd protest in June 2020.
The settlement, if approved by a federal judge, would award $21,500 to each of the more than 300 people arrested during the demonstration.
A class-action lawsuit accused New York police of trapping peaceful protesters in a strategy known as "kettling," as well as using batons and pepper spray.
