New York City began seizing 46 ice cream trucks this week.
In what's being called “Operation Meltdown," the trucks were seized after their owners allegedly created shell companies to avoid paying fines on traffic violations.
Between 2009 and 2017, the trucks incurred some 22,000 violations. The operators allegedly avoided nearly $4.5 million in fines.
