NY governor unveils $10B JFK airport upgrade plan

Posted online
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo unveiled a $10 billion plan to upgrade the aging John F. Kennedy International Airport.

"JFK is ranked 59th out of the top 100 international airports," he said. "Time has passed us by. We have to catch up."

The governor said $7 billion would come from private funding, with another $1 billion still to be allocated. Up to $2 billion for road improvements would be financed by the state Department of Transportation.

Plans include linking terminals together so travelers do not have to go outside to move from one to the other.
