NPC International buys 56 Wendy's stores

Overland Park, Kan.-based NPC International Holdings Inc. has agreed to purchase 56 Wendy’s restaurants from Washington D.C.-based owners the Carlisle Group for $58.2 million.

The deal brings NPC’s total Wendy’s holdings to 146 restaurants. The company’s new stores are located mostly in North Carolina and Virginia.

NPC had been a Pittsburg, Kan.-based company owned by George Bicknell before it was bought out in 2011 by private equity firm NPC International Holdings.
