Norwegian foreign minister to head World Economic Forum

Norwegian foreign minister Borge Brende was chosen as the new president of the World Economic Forum.

Brende will stay on with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg's staff until mid-October, when a replacement is expected to be put in place.

Brende, 51, has been a foreign minister since October 2013, twice holding high-ranking jobs with the Geneva-based forum.
