NortonLifeLock Inc. penned a deal to purchase cybersecurity firm Avast PLC.
The deal has an equity value between $8.1 billion and $8.6 billion, company officials said.
NortonLifeLock previously was known as Symantec Corp. before it sold its enterprise-security business to Broadcom Inc. for $10.7 billion in 2019.
