North Korea vows not to give up nukes unless US removes threat

North Korean officials on Thursday said the country would not give up its nukes unless the United States removes what Pyongyang calls a nuclear threat.

Pyongyang officials, according to The Associated Press, are referring to U.S. troops and a nuclear umbrella defending South Korea and Japan.

“The United States must now recognize the accurate meaning of the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, and especially, must study geography,” North Korean officials said in a statement.
