Nordstrom plans to stop sell fur and exotic animal skin products by the end of next year.
Humane Society of the United States officials said Nordstrom is the first major retailer to commit to prohibiting the sale of clothing and accessories made with the skins of exotic animals.
Other retailers including Bloomingdales and Macy's in recent years have unveiled fur-product bans.
