No one fired at Rolling Stone. Really?

Posted online
Rolling Stone magazine's report "A Rape on Campus," which allegedly detailed an assault at University of Virginia, was discredited months ago. A report by the Columbia Journalism School, published Sunday, faulted sloppy reporting and vetting by everyone at Rolling Stone who touched the article prior to its publication for the failure.

Rolling Stone retracted the article when the report was released but has decided to not hold accountable anyone associated with the report, including reporter Sabrina Rudin Erdely and editor Will Dana, according to CNNMoney. Publisher Jann Wenner has determined the Columbia report is "punishment enough," according to the article.

Although no disciplinary actions are planned, the magazine has indicated changes may be implemented because of the failure. The reluctance of the magazine to more forcefully address the staff responsible for the retracted article has caused some to question whether Rolling Stone can regain journalistic credibility, the report states.
