Nixon to Boeing: Bring aircraft production to STL

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon met with Boeing executives on Thursday to urge them to consider housing production of its new 777X aircraft in St. Louis.

Nixon said in a statement the meeting was productive. Boeing company executives are searching for a production location for their new 777x as soon as January, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.

St. Louis is home to Boeing’s second-largest location outside of Washington state. Nixon touted the fact that Boeing already has nearly 15,000 employees in the region and committed earlier this year to add at least 400 new jobs to its St. Louis County campus, according to the report.
