Gov. Jay Nixon has selected a former Greene County prosecuting attorney as his pick for associate circuit judge of the county.
Ron Carrier, who was Greene County prosecuting attorney 1996-98 and now serves as chief counsel for the Missouri attorney general's office in Springfield, has been selected for the associate judgeship of the 31st Judicial Court, which covers Greene County, according to a news release.
Carrier was one of
three candidates submitted to Nixon for consideration by the 31st Circuit Judicial Commission under the Missouri Nonpartisan Court Plan. The other finalists were Chantel Alberhasky of Alberhasky Law Firm PC and Rob Aiken of Aiken Law Firm, according to Springfield Business Journal archives. The Missouri General Assembly funded the position during this year's session.
“Ron Carrier has an extremely strong background in enforcing Missouri law, and his career has been one of service to the public and the cause of justice,” Nixon said in the release. “I am proud to name him as a judge in Greene County, where I know he will be a tremendous asset to the bench.”
Carrier earned his undergraduate degree from Drury University and his law degree from the University of Missouri.
