An assurance of voluntary compliance was filed today in Greene County Circuit Court that requires Wightman Enterprises Inc. and its principal owner, Donald Wightman, to pay eight area residents restitution ranging from $750 to $5,710.
The agreement is a result of a lawsuit filed by Attorney General Jay Nixon alleging the defendants, who operate Granny’s Mobile Homes at 2715 W. Sunshine, sold damaged homes but would not fix the structures or reimburse customers for repairs.
“If a business sells damaged or substandard products, it better be ready to make things right by fixing the problem or covering the cost of any repairs,” Nixon said in a news release. “We are pleased that this agreement assures that those customers who bought these homes are fully reimbursed for necessary repairs.”
