Nixon names state's first military advocate

Gov. Jay Nixon nominated Missouri's first-ever military advocate for Missouri.

Joe Driskill, of Jefferson City, will be in charge of a new office designed to advocate for military services and the preservation of military installations and agencies, as well as defense industries.

Driskill will serve as liaison between state and federal branches of government.

His position and the office was established by a bill Nixon signed into law last year.
