Nixon gets $50,000 from union after right-to-work veto

Posted online
Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon last Wednesday received a $50,000 campaign donation from Detroit-based United Automobile Workers, less than a week after he vetoed right-to-work legislation.

A Nixon spokesman declined to comment on "campaign issues" when the St. Louis Business Journal asked about the donation.

The legislation would prohibit employment contracts requiring collction of union fees from nonmembers. It's unclear whether the General Assembly has the votes to override Nixon's veto.
