Nixon appoints Christian County Eastern District commissioner

Posted online
Gov. Jay Nixon appointed a Christian County Eastern District commissioner, filling a role vacant since last year.

The governor chose Sue Ann Childers, of Ozark, for the position. She succeeds Ray Weter, who was elected presiding commissioner of the district in August, according to a news release.

A Democrat, Childers currently works at Springfield’s Childers Law Firm PC and has past experience at Ozark R-6 School District.

“Sue Ann Childers has served admirably as a public school teacher for 25 years, including nearly two decades in the Ozark schools,” Nixon said in the release. “I am happy to appoint her as the new Eastern District commissioner, and I know she will continue to capably serve the people of Christian County.”

She’s unrelated to Steve Childers, Ozark city administrator.[[In-content Ad]]
