The city of Nixa is preparing to issue $19.5 million in bonds to fund water and wastewater projects.
At its Jan. 27 meeting, Nixa City Council approved a resolution to allow city staff and its municipal adviser, Baker Tilly Municipal Advisors LLC, and bond counsel, Gilmore & Bell PC, to prepare documents and follow procedures to prepare for a bond sale.
Jennifer Evans, Nixa director of finance, anticipates a bond ordinance to be put before council for consideration in April with first reading on April 14 and a vote on April 28. A sale of bonds would follow in May with availability of bond funds in June.
Projects to be funded by the bond include the city’s Ashley Drive water tower, sludge holding basin for the wastewater treatment station and the southwest regional lift station
