Nixa names interim city administrator

Posted online

Nixa government officials selected an interim city administrator to take over when Brian Bingle retires Oct. 27.

City spokesman Drew Douglas said Nixa Public Works Director Doug Colvin agreed to serve in the interim when Bingle exits the job he’s held for 17 years. The decision was made during a Sept. 15 city management meeting.

The city is still discussing the next steps to find Bingle’s permanent successor, Douglas said.

During another management meeting scheduled for today, Douglas said officials would talk about the search process. He noted a request for proposal soliciting an executive search firm likely wouldn’t go out until after Nixa City Council’s Sept. 25 meeting.

“My guess is there will be more discussion by council about this subject at that council meeting,” he said.
