Project description: An April 2023 voter-approved bond is funding a three-part project at Nixa Junior High. The work includes an 1,800-square-foot classroom renovation, a 7,000-square-foot addition of weight and exercise spaces and a 10,000-square-foot theater renovation for a structure built in 1985. The classroom renovation will complete four classrooms with new finishes, cabinetry and mechanical, electrical and plumbing work to bring the classrooms up to the same level as the rest of the school, officials say. The exercise addition is single-story, slab-on-grade construction with a steel-frame structure and exterior finish. The auditorium renovation will include the existing performance space, lobby area and restrooms. The architect is Dake Wells Architecture Inc., and engineers are Shaffer & Hines Inc., civil; RTM Engineering Consultants LLC, structural; and True Engineering Group LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
