The completion of additions to the Nixa Government Plaza has been pushed back to late summer due to weather-related delays, according to Jody Shelenhamer of general contractor Shelenhamer Construction LLC. The architect for the project is Sapp Design Associates Architects PC. Engineers are Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural; Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins, mechanical; and Shaffer & Hines, civil, with interior design by Terri West of Interior Planning Consultants Inc. The approximately $3.9 million project includes a 15,000-square-foot expansion of City Hall. “We’re starting to get our roof on it, and all the metal studs are going up,” Shelenhamer said. The added space will house Nixa City Council chambers, inspections personnel and record storage. The project also comprises renovations to the existing City Hall to transform it into a courts department. The police station also will be renovated, and a meeting room, additional holding cell and larger squad room will be added. [[In-content Ad]]
