The city of Nixa has filled a role left vacant at the start of the year.
Nixa City Council appointed Rebekka Coffey as city clerk, effective today, according to a news release.
“I’m thankful that the administrative staff have trained and prepared me for this role and that council (has) entrusted me to fulfill these responsibilities," Coffey said in a provided statement. "I am dedicated to serving Nixa to the best of my abilities and I am committed to providing excellent customer service as the city strives to set an example of high-performance local government.”
Coffey, who previously was deputy city clerk since September 2021 and was hired by the municipality in mid-2016 as an administrative assistant, succeeds Cindy Robbins. The latter government leader was promoted to assistant city administrator in a full-time capacity last month, according to past reporting. Robbins maintained the city clerk duties until Coffey's appointment.
Drew Douglas, director of communications for the city of Nixa, previously told Springfield Business Journal the city clerk position has a salary range of $25.50 per hour to $42.61 per hour.
