The Nixa Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors announced the hiring of a new president and CEO.
Whitney Guison, a local business owner, was named to the role, according to a news release issued this morning.
Guison is stepping away from the day-to-day operations of Simply Chiropractic, which she founded in 2019 with her husband, Dr. Phillip Guison.
"We've loved every minute of owning a business and being part of the Nixa business community," Whitney Guison said in the release.
At the Nixa chamber, Guison succeeds Chris Russell, who stepped down in the spring for personal reasons, according to past reporting. Chamber Vice President of Membership Ashley Johnson served as interim president.
The organization this year ranked No. 3 on Springfield Business Journal's list of the area's largest chambers of commerce. The Nixa chamber reported 566 members and a 2023 operating budget of $480,000.
