The city of Nixa has appointed a new director.
Travis Cossey has been tapped to serve as director of Nixa Utilities & Public Works, effective Feb. 19, according to a news release. He succeeds Doug Colvin, who retired in the fall.
"Travis' promotion to Public Works director is a well-earned milestone in a career defined by dedication, leadership and a deep commitment to the city of Nixa," City Administrator Jimmy Liles said in the release.
Cossey has nearly 30 years of experience with the municipality, most recently serving as assistant director of Nixa Utilities & Public Works. A search is slated to be conducted for a new assistant director, the release notes.
Cossey's salary in his new position is $152,000, said Nixa spokesperson Summer Rascoll.
The city's Public Works includes streets and stormwater services, while Utilities is a public-owned utility comprising electric, water, sewer and utility billing, according to the municipality's website.
