Ernesto, still some 200 miles away from Florida’s southern coast, has alliance officials preparing for hurricane conditions. The organization will set up its logistics operations to manage donations and distribute services and supplies.
Alliance officials plan to meet with other human service agencies and state and county emergency managers in the Miami area.
Compassion Alliance has increased its warehouse capacity in Florida to accommodate more supply storage and, in this response effort, will test its new custom logistics software package.
Kevin Montgomery, organization spokesperson, said in a news release that most response agencies seem to be in good condition to help in Florida, though there is some concern that volunteers and donors are still recovering from Hurricane Katrina.
To donate to the relief efforts, send money or gift card donations to PO Box 989, Nixa, MO 65714, or donate online at www.compassionalliance.org.
