Nissan Motor Co. will recall 1.2 million cars in Japan, The New York Times reports.
The country's second-biggest automaker cited vehicles that did not have final inspections performed by authorized technicians.
"We must take the registration framework and procedures seriously, regardless of how busy we may be or how short-staffed we may be," CEO Hiroto Saikawa said.
