Nintendo president dies at 55

Nintendo Presdient Satoru Iwata died July 11 due to complications with a bile duct tumor. He was 55.

According to CNNMoney, Iwata was named president in 2002, succeeding Hiroshi Yamauchi. He was only the fourth president in the history of the entertainment company, and the first outside of the Yamauchi family.

"On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer," Iwata said at a conference for game developers in 2005.
