Nine Springfield-area businesses made the 2014 Inc. 5000 list, though none cracked the coveted top 500.
On its
annual list, Inc. magazine ranks the fastest-growing private companies based on percentage revenue growth between 2010 and 2013.
Springfield-based e-commerce agency Classy Llama Studios LLC, which last year ranked No. 456 on the list, again led local companies in 2014. The 23-employee firm landed at No. 2,025 on this year's list, pushed by three-year revenue growth of 200 percent to $2.9 million in 2013 from $976,804 in 2010, according to the company's materials submitted to Inc.
The eight other local companies on the Inc. 5000 spanned myriad industries.
