The board of the National Hockey League yesterday unanimously approved a Seattle-based expansion franchise.
The Seattle franchise, which has yet to be named, will become the NHL's 32nd team in 2021.
The team's ownership group, including TPG Capital CEO David Bonderman and movie producer Jerry Bruckheimer, agreed to pay a record $650 million expansion fee to join the league.
