U.S. TV station operator Nexstar has agreed to acquire rival Tegna in a deal valued at $6.2 billion.
Nexstar would comprise 265 TV stations in 44 states and the District of Columbia with the combination. Locally, Nexstar operates KOLR, KOZL and KRBK.
The planned acquisition of Tegna requires approval from the Federal Communications Commission.
