Accounting Scott Watson, executive vice president of sales and marketing for M3 Accounting & Analytics, was invited to speak on a panel at The Americas Lodging Investors Summit about the value of hosted technology solutions. Watson has nearly three decades of sales and management experience, including a stint at Jack Henry & Associates Inc.
Advertising ADsmith Communications Inc. hired Dawn Cosby as an accountant and Jessica Gottstein as creative coordinator. Cosby, who holds a bachelor’s in accounting from Missouri State University, assists with billing, and Gottstein, who has a bachelor’s in English from Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill., handles copywriting, design and marketing ideas.
Banking and Finance First Home Bank hired Maddie Walker as operations manager for its Springfield banking center. With five years of experience and a bachelor’s in organizational leadership from Fort Hays State University, Walker is responsible for business development and deposit growth.
Education Springfield Public Schools Foundation elected two new board members: Carrie Brown of Elliott Robinson & Co. LLP and Marc Mayer of Great Southern Bank. New board officers are Jeff Shore of Bush, Ramlow & Shore PC, president; Dwayne Fulk of Polsinelli PC, president-elect; Jennifer Hendrickson of Christ Episcopal Church, treasurer; Erin Danastasio of American Dehydrated Foods Inc., secretary; and Steve Nurnberg of The Kingsley Group, past-president.
Jennifer Kennally was elected to the Ozarks Technical Community College Board of Trustees. Kennally, who is retiring as president and CEO of United Way of the Ozarks, succeeds Jackie McKinsey, who retired from the board. Kennally will serve out the remainder of McKinsey’s six-year term, which expires in April 2016.
Communications The Association for Women in Communications national board of directors selected City Utilities Administrator Mitzie Zerr as chairwoman. Zerr previously served as treasurer, a role now filled by Jill Randolph, director of administrative services for the Greene County Juvenile Office. Randolph began serving on the 11-member AWC board earlier this year.
Government The Show-Me Heroes program honored the Springfield Police Department and the city of Springfield’s Human Resources Department with the Flag of Freedom. Recognized for hiring veterans, the SPD was nominated by the Missouri Career Center.
Health Care Physician assistants James Griffith and Andrea Applegate joined Mercy Clinic Cardiology at Whiteside. Griffith received his bachelor’s in physician assistant studies from Saint Francis College in Laretto, Penn. Applegate received her bachelor’s in chemistry, biology and science and Christian faith from SBU and her master’s from Missouri State University.
Dr. Jennifer Roberts and physician assistant Angela Johns joined Mercy Clinic emergency medicine. Roberts received her medical education from Midwestern University in Glendale, Ariz. Johns received her bachelor’s from Evangel University and master’s from MSU.
Mercy Clinic added hospitalists Drs. Talha Siddiqi, Jefferson Loa, Karishma Balani, Dheeraj Goyal and Brian Brotherton.
