Kaleb Roy joined Roberts, McKenzie, Mangan & Cummings PC as a staff accountant. Roy previously worked at O’Reilly Automotive Inc. and holds a bachelor’s in accounting from Missouri State University.

Automotive
Jim Cox, owner of Branson Collector Car Auction LLC, received the Lee Iacocca Award during the 2014 Keeneland Concours d’Elegance car show in Lexington, Ky. The award honors classic car enthusiasts dedicated to forwarding the American automotive tradition.

Banking and Finance
SMC Packaging Group Senior Vice President and General Manager Mark McNay was elected to Empire Bank’s board of directors.

Empire Bank promoted Tisha Harmon to banking center manager and retail officer at its Highlandville branch. Harmon has seven years of banking experience and has worked two of those years with Empire.

Matt Meadows joined Metropolitan National Bank as business development officer for the Tri-Lakes region. Meadows is a former real estate broker with 20 years of management and development experience.

Commerce Bank has promoted Eric McGuire to branch manager of the company’s Willard branch. With seven years of banking and sales management experience, he is responsible for business development and customer service. McGuire holds a bachelor’s from Missouri Southern State University and an MBA from William Woods University.

Education
MSU was listed in The Princeton Review’s 2014 Best Colleges: Region by Region. Based on student surveys, MSU is one of 155 schools in the Best in the Midwest category.

Drury University unveiled a bust of the late David Lewis on campus to honor a $1.15 million donation to the school. The Lewis Scholarship currently supports four students.

Southwest Baptist University’s Department of Computer and Information Sciences received full accreditation from ABET’s Computing Accreditation Commission. The international organization accredits 3,300 programs at some 680 colleges and universities in 24 countries.

Two faculty members and a staff member received awards during Southwest Baptist University’s convocation. Kinesiology Department Chairman Joe Wooderson, who joined SBU in 2005, received the Orien B. Hendrex Distinguished Teacher Award. Chris Allison, director of the Meyer Wellness and Sports Center, was named the Staff Newcomer of the Year. He came to SBU in August 2013 as resident director of Landen Hall. Meilani Conley, an instructor of computer and information sciences, was named Faculty Newcomer of the Year, in part, for redesigning a computer sciences course.

Employment Services
Affiniti Management Services added Maleia Ferguson and Marie Herrold as community directors. With 25 years of property management experience in Missouri and Florida, Ferguson manages Affiniti’s Crosswood Apartments in Rogersville. Herrold, with 20 years of related experience in Texas, manages The Pavillion Apartments.

Affiniti Management promoted six-year property manager Brandy Kindrick to community director for Tall Grass Apartments.

Government
The Springfield-Greene County Library received a $14,310 technology grant from the Missouri State Library, a division of the Missouri Secretary of State’s office. The grant will fund new desktop computers.

Health Care
Dr. Nick Matthews of Excel Dental in Ozark was selected as an at-large committee member with the Missouri Dental Association. The New Dentist Committee comprises 17 dentists from the American Dental Association’s regional districts who have been out of school for less than 10 years. The committee is designed to represent the interests of those entering the profession when it comes to ADA policies and programs. Matthews is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry.

Law
Judges Michael Cordonnier and Thomas Mountjoy of the 31st Judicial Circuit Court were honored with the Advanced Science and Technology Adjudication Resource Award in a special ceremony held by Missouri Supreme Court Judge Zel Fischer. Cordonnier and Mountjoy completed 120 hours of court-related science and technology classes and obtained the skills of ASTAR trial judges.

Lee Viorel of Lowther Johnson Attorneys At Law LLC was selected for inclusion in the 2015 Best Lawyers of America in the litigation-bankruptcy practice area. Best Lawyers is based on a peer-review survey with over 52,000 attorneys casting more than 5.5 million votes.

Manufacturing
Chelsea Coale joined Tuthill Vacuum & Blower Systems as facilities manager. Formerly a project manager at Siemens in Springfield, Coale is responsible for maintenance of Tuthill’s Springfield manufacturing facilities and equipment.

Nonprofit
The Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield was recognized with an Award of Excellence from the Executive Officers Council of the National Association of Home Builders. The local HBA was recognized for creating a package for members to sponsor networking events and increase membership attendance.

The Springfield Contractors Association elected four members to its board of directors: Jim Carson, general contractor; J.W. DeLong, subcontractor; Aaron Harless, supplier; and Bill Bergmann, associate.

Springfield Ballet performer and Central High School student Ashlan Grace Zay was awarded a merit scholarship to dance year-round with Charlotte Ballet’s Pre-Professional Division as a conservatory student in Charlotte, N.C. Zay, 15, played the principal role in Springfield Ballet’s Cinderella in May at Landers Theatre.

The Taney County Partnership hired Jennifer Langford as marketing and programs director. With 20 years of marketing experience for public and private clients, Langford has an MBA in international marketing and a master’s in information systems from University of Phoenix in Nashville, Tenn.

Ozarks Regional YMCA named Sue Robinson its development director, Ginger Stringer as webmaster and graphic designer, and Becca Bucy its corporate membership director. Robinson has 20 years of related experience and holds a bachelor’s and MBA from Drury University. Stringer has managed digital content and social media for seven years. Bucy has seven years of experience with the YMCA, including stints as healthy lifestyles director and membership director.  

The Rainbow Network received a donation of 300,000 doses of Abendazole, an anti-parasite medication, valued at $346,900 from World Concern in Seattle and Imres Medical Solutions in the Netherlands. Rainbow Network is dispensing the medicine to some 42,000 men, women and children in need across rural Nicaragua.
