Construction and Design
Sam Clifton of Millstone Custom Homes and 21 builders who built seven homes in seven days in Joplin were named a 2012 Design Excellence Award winner by Residential Design & Build magazine, and featured in the July/August issue of the publication. Clifton and the team completed the work for ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”

Matt Rushing of Pine Hill Primitives in Nixa won the top award as a traditional artisan in this year’s Directory of Traditional American Crafts, and his work was featured in the 2012 August issue of Early American Life magazine. Rushing who specializes in 18th and 19th century formal and painted reproduction furniture.

Finance
Lori Melton, firm administrator for Davis, Lynn & Moots PC, was certified as an Accredited Administrator in Accounting Practice Management by the Association for Accounting Administration.

Paula Dougherty, financial adviser for Ameriprise Financial, qualified for the 2012 Circle of Success annual recognition program in Denver, based on production, and client satisfaction and service.

Law
Lawyers in districts across the state re-elected Brett Roubal of Baird Lightner Millsap & Harpool PC and Raymond E. Williams, of West Plains, to two-year terms on the Board of Governors of the Missouri Bar Association. Brian Shepard, of Springfield, was elected to the Young Lawyers’ Section.

Media
Dallas-based Nexstar Broadcasting Group Inc. named Leo Henning as vice president/general manager and Jeff Gamble as general sales manager of KOZL-TV and OzarksFirst.com. Henning and Gamble also have supervisory roles of CBS affiliate KOLR-TV through Nexstar’s joint operating agreement with Mission Broadcasting. Henning has 30 years of broadcasting experience in Midwestern markets. Gamble has previous experience as a sales manager for KOLR 10, and he served as general sales manager for KSNF, KODE and FourStatesHomePage.com in Joplin.

Nonprofit
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks received $36,000 from the Heart of the Ozarks Sertoma Club. The donation will be used to support BBBS’ Amachi Mentoring Program, which matches children of incarcerated parents with adult mentors.

The Rotary Club of Springfield named its new board members: Bernie McCarthy, Bill Orendorff, Marty Anderson, Richard Warriner III, Summer Massey, Rhoda Clark, Cindy Stephens, Kim Crist and Vickie Hicks.

The Real Trends 500 Annual Report ranked Murney Associates Realtors as the 44th largest independent real estate company based on closed U.S. transactions.[[In-content Ad]]
