Government Gov. Jay Nixon appointed Michael Jinks, of Republic, to the Missouri Propane Gas Commission and William Skains, of Branson, to the Missouri Workforce Investment Board. Jinks, whose term ends June 30, 2017, is regional vice president of Heritage Propane and has worked in the propane industry since 1992. Skains, whose term ends March 3, 2014, is the former owner of the Engler Block and has served as chairman of the Ozark Region Workforce Investment Board.
Health Care Citizens Memorial Healthcare was named one of the nation’s 100 Most Wired hospitals by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine for the eighth time. The 2012 survey recognizes hospitals that employ information technology to better serve patients and increase efficiency.
CMH added two radiologists, Drs. Matthew Cherry and Jana Horner, and Dr. Troy Morrison to its medical staff. Cherry attended Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, and Horner is a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
Morrison, who works at the Parkview Orthopedic Clinic, graduated from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.
Sherry Welch of Citizens Memorial Healthcare was named a special government employee for the Department of Labor-Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Working as an evaluator in the Voluntary Protection Program, Welch reviews, evaluates and improves safety under OSHA standards.
CoxHealth hired Drs. Ammara Gill and Sarah Smitherman. Gill, an inpatient physician at Cox Walnut Lawn, studied medicine at Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, completed a residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. Smitherman, an inpatient physician at Cox South, earned a medical degree from University of Missouri-Columbia and completed residency with the University of Missouri Hospitals.
Ferrell-Duncan Clinic added five physicians. Dr. Anees Afroze, who works in the pulmonary clinic, received a medical degree from Deccan College of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad, India. Dr. Cheng Zhang, who works in the gastroenterology department studied at Central South University Xiangya School of Medicine in Changsha, China. Dr. Daniel Crozier, who joined the ear, nose and throat department, completed a medical degree the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Minh-Thu Le, who works in the allergy department, attended the University of Missouri-Columbia. Dr. John Trombold, a colorectal surgeon, completed medical studies at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and University of Louisville Department of Surgery.
