RPS Financial Group Inc. hired Ashton Glaser and Ryan Strohm as financial representatives for Northwestern Mutual products.

John Rehani, a financial adviser with Ameriprise Financial Services Inc., received a 98 percent score in the Ameriprise Client Relationship study, ranking him in the top 25 percent of advisers in the firm. Rehani, who holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Drury University, has 33 years experience with Ameriprise.

New York Life Insurance Co. hired Andrew Coplin as a financial services professional.

Development
Marie Carmichael of Affordable Homes Development Inc. received the Hawthorn Foundation Volunteer Economic Development Award during the 2014 Governor’s Conference on Economic Development at Lake of the Ozarks. She has served on numerous boards and commissions, including Missouri Partnership, the Missouri Development Finance Board and the Hawthorn Foundation.
 
Education
The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools awarded $325,663 to over 50 schools and special programs through its Back to School grant program. The funds are assisting classroom technology updates, academic field trips and school reading programs.

The Missouri State University Procurement Technical Assistance Center named Allen Waldo its CEO. Most recently working as CEO of Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville, Waldo has three decades of contracting, accounting, sales, health care and executive leadership experience. He holds a bachelor’s in accounting and an MBA from MSU.

U.S. News & World Report ranked Drury University among the Midwest’s top colleges and universities for both quality and value in its Best Colleges 2015 list. Drury ranked No. 1 in the Midwest on the publication’s Great Schools, Great Prices list, No. 3 on the Best Colleges for Veterans list and No. 8 in the Midwest for Best Regional Universities.

Government
Springfield City Council designated Midwest Technical Institute, Sumit Yoga LLC and Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau as Springfield LifeSave Plus organizations for completing its 50/50 Challenge. Organizations that complete the 50/50 Challenge have 50 percent of their workforce or 50 employees certified in CPR. Council also recognized the Springfield Cardinals for its support of the Springfield LifeSave program by broadcasting a 3-minute instructional video during a baseball game this summer.

Insurance
Sarah Nyquist joined Northwestern Mutual as director of selection.
Working in human resources, she previously served as a transfer student recruiter and evaluator at MSU Nyquist holds a bachelor’s in sociology from Illinois State University and a master’s in student affairs from MSU.

Manufacturing
Tuthill Vacuum & Blower Systems named Kelly Robertson as information technology systems administrator and Trey Ely as a quality engineer. Robertson previously worked at GMP Metal Products in St. Louis and holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Drury. Ely worked previously for Farrar Corp. in Norwich, Kan., and holds a bachelor’s in manufacturing engineering technology from Pittsburg State University.

Nonprofit
Habitat for Humanity received a roughly $1,100 donation from Jack Henry & Associates Inc. The Jack Henry Cares program allows employees to wear casual clothes in exchange for a donation to a chosen monthly charity.

Retail
Trade publication Home Channel News named Meek’s Lumber Co. its 2014 Pro Dealer of the Year. With input from key suppliers, HCN editors recognize best practices and values in the lumber and building materials industries.

Technololgy
HealthMedX selected Ponce Kenton as vice-president of development and promoted Anna Whitaker to director of marketing. Kenton, who worked previously for McKesson Corp., has 25 years of experience in the post-acute and long-term care sector and is managing teams for mobile electronic health records access. Whitaker started with HealthMedX in 2008 and most recently held the position of account executive.

Nola Essick joined Dazzee Integrations as service delivery manager and virtual chief information officer. Previously, Essick worked as Liberty Bank’s chief information officer for four years and in information technology and security for Peoples Bank of the Ozarks.
