Banking Nigel Templeton and Betty Johnson joined Guaranty Bank as residential lenders. Templeton has 15 years of local lending experience, and Johnson has nine years of experience.
Education Rachelle Darabi, associate provost for student development and public affairs at Missouri State University, received the Missouri Academic Advising Association Pacesetter Award. Darabi, who has worked for the university for five years, manages programming related to student development and public affairs.
Monika Feeney, in partnership with Colette Witkowski, received a $15,412 grant from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration to fund the nurse anesthetist traineeship program at MSU. The program, which includes 35 students, supports in-class lecture and provides hands-on experience in anesthesia.
Ozarks Technical Community College received a $2.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor through the Federal Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training Grant program. The funds are supporting OTC’s Technology-Enabled Pathways in Healthcare program, which is designed to serve current and future workforce needs in the health services and sciences industry.
Government Rep. Eric Burlison, R-Springfield, was named to the 10 Under 40 list of promising young leaders by American Conservative Union.
U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., received the Legislator of the Year Award from the National Council for Behavioral Health. Blunt was recognized for his support of several bills, including the Excellence in Mental Health Act, in an effort to help treat and identify people with mental illness.
Health Care Cox College named Dr. Lance Ratcliff as president. Serving as interim president since August, Ratcliff joined Cox College as vice president of academic affairs earlier this year after serving as dean of business and science at Eastern New Mexico University. Ratcliff earned bachelor’s degrees in biology and chemistry from Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wis., and master’s and doctorate degrees in nutrition and food science from Auburn University.
CoxHealth added five professionals to its system. Dr. Richard Jung, who attended the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga., joined Ferrell-Duncan Clinic Neurology. Dr. Robert Monarez, who graduated from medical school at Texas Tech University, joined CoxHealth Springfield Inpatient Physicians. Hired to work at CoxHealth Adult Medicine and Endocrinology, Dr. Ramana Reddy Kankanala received his medical degree from Ghandi Medical College in India. Dr. Cory Bethmann, who attended medical school at Saint Louis University, joined CoxHealth Center Elfindale. A medical school graduate from University of Arkansas, Dr. Nathan Livers was hired at CoxHealth Physicians for Women.
