Revel Advertising hired Emma Abbott as an account executive. She holds bachelor’s degrees in graphic design and strategic communication from Drury University, and she previously spent a year as Revel’s social media intern.

Architecture
H Design Group LLC hired Benjamin Reents and Chloe Sanders as designers. Reents holds a master’s of architecture from Drury, while Sanders, who began in a part-time position earlier this year, holds an associate degree in drafting and design technology from Ozarks Technical Community College.

Amber Summers of BRP Architects earned her licensure to practice architecture in Missouri. She passed the Architect Registration Examination, developed by the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards, and completed the required experience hours. She joined BRP in 2018 and holds a master’s in architecture from Kansas State University.

The U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges 2022-23 named College of the Ozarks and Evangel University among the Top Performers in Social Mobility for regional universities in the Midwest.

C of O ranked No. 1, and Evangel was No. 28 in the category out of 110 universities, which were evaluated on up to 17 measures of academic quality. C of O also rated No. 1 in the Midwest for innovation, value and undergraduate teaching, and No. 4 as a Best Regional College in the report.

Industrial
Brokate Janitorial LLC hired Jason Frans as facilities manager to lead its new facility maintenance and management division. He has a decade of experience in project, construction and facility management, most recently with Killian Construction Co., where he served as project manager overseeing commercial construction projects. Frans holds a bachelor’s in business administration from University of Arkansas.

Law
Rick Van Pelt of Van Pelt & Van Pelt PC was listed in the 2023 Best Lawyers in America for family law. He’s appeared in the publication each year since 2011.

Twibell Pierson Criminal Law LP attorney and partner Branden Twibell was included in the 2023 edition of The Best Lawyers in America for criminal defense: general practice and named Lawyer of the Year for criminal defense: white collar category in Springfield. 

Municipal
Ozark Police Chief Justin Arnold was selected by the International Association of Chiefs of Police as a 2022 recipient of its 40 Under 40 honor. He’s worked in nearly every capacity with the Ozark Police Department since joining the force in 2005. Arnold was appointed chief in 2019 and later that year championed the Hero in Training program, which engages and educates children about policing and last year earned the Missouri Municipal League Innovation Award. IACP honorees represent law enforcement agencies from seven countries across four continents.

Nonprofit
Ozarks Literacy Council added Sarah Smallwood of the Springfield-Greene County Library District to its board of directors and elected its executive officers: President Jennifer Johnmeyer of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and Freelance by Jen, Vice President Sarah Kerner of FORVIS LLP, Treasurer Abigail James-O’Quinn of James Financial Group Inc., Secretary Melanie McMullen of Neale & Newman LLP and Past President Dana Mallory of Jack Henry & Associates Inc.
