Andrew Robinson, a certified public accountant with Robinson and Co. LLP, was designated as a certified valuation analyst by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies.

Banking and Finance
Karla McCullough of McCullough and Associates LLC renewed her certified financial planner designation through the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.

Steve Parker joined Guaranty Bank as a retail banking officer and manager of the East Sunshine Street branch. With a focus on business development, Parker has five years of financial industry experience.

Education
MSU communications professor Charlene Berquist received the President’s Award from the Association of Missouri Mediators for building the university’s dispute resolution program.

Government
Missouri Pharmacy Association awarded Rep. Lynn Morris, R-Nixa, founder and president of Family Pharmacy Inc., with the 2014 Pharmacist Making a Difference Award at its annual convention in St. Louis.

Marshfield native Matthew Blankenship was one of 107 fallen firefighters honored at the 2014 National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Md. In July 2013, Blankenship died a week after fighting a structure fire in which he was severely burned.

Health Care
Caitlin Kissee joined Loehr Chiropractic & Acupuncture LLC as director of community relations. Kissee, the former business affairs manager for Springfield Ballet, is responsible for developing the Loehr brand and establishing partnerships with businesses and nonprofits.

The National Research Corp. named Mercy Hospital Springfield a Consumer Choice Award recipient. The group surveyed area health care consumers as part of a national study of 290,000 households, asking questions about the quality of doctors and nurses and the image and reputation of the institutions.

Phillip Loyd, president of Loyd’s Electric Supply Inc., Lighthouse Gallery and Theatrical Lighting Concepts, was elected  board chairman for Cox Medical Center Branson. The directors also named Bob McDowell of McDowell Consulting LLC as vice chairman and Branson Mayor Raeanne Presley of Presley’s Country Jubilee Theater as secretary, as well as new members Bob Cox of The Harbor and Doug Hayter of Branson Public Schools.

Hospitality
John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts hired Carol Davey and Colleen Schuyler-Vinsand as corporate directors of revenue optimization in Springfield. With 17 years working in revenue management and reservations, Davey is focused on the company’s 36 Hilton-branded properties. Thirty-year hospitality veteran Schuyler-Vinsand leads JQH’s regional sales directors for the 36 IHG, Marriott and Starwood brand hotels.

Insurance
SMI Group of BancorpSouth Insurance Services Inc. retained its status in the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America Best Practices Study Group. Of the 1,100 independent agencies nominated to participate in the three-year study, 217 were selected based on their performance in one of six revenue categories.

Law
Beth Warwick joined Bruce Galloway LLC in Ozark as an associate attorney. Warwick, who specializes in helping victims of domestic violence, previously worked for Legal Services of Southern Missouri and the Law Office of Christopher Swatosh LLC. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in geological engineering from Missouri University of Science & Technology and a law degree from University of Arkansas.

Nonprofit
Ozarks Food Harvest named four members to its board of directors: Tommy Wohlegemuth of Springfield Grocer Co., James Wilson of NewStream Enterprises, Jill Reynolds of Commerce Trust Co. and Krystal Russell of Payroll Vault and Spectrum Accounting LLC.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks appointed Darcie Ray to its board of directors. Ray, an agent at Jim Hutcheson Realtors, holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Drury University and has worked 10 years in pharmaceutical sales.

Six groups involved with Community Partnership of the Ozarks’ Regional Support Center received grant funding from the Missouri Division of Behavioral Health for support of substance abuse and violence prevention: Stand Against Trafficking, $5,000; Violence Free Families, $5,000; Ozarks Fighting Back, $4,708; Greene County Alliance for Drug Endangered Children, $4,198; Child Abuse and Neglect Collaborative, $4,450; and the Underage Drinking Task Force, $3,876.

The Chamber of Commerce Executives of Missouri elected Brent McCoy, vice president of membership for the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, its 2015 president and appointed Jeff Meredith, executive director of the Monett Chamber of Commerce, to the trade organization’s board of directors.

Louanne Dietrich joined The Caring People in Branson as director of development for the Christian ministry that supports single mothers through care groups.

The Springfield Contractors Association named its 2015 officers: Brent Beattie of Wildcat Material Inc., president; Dave Robertson of Prestressed Casting Co., vice president; Joe Tucker of Tucker & Co. PC, treasurer; Mike Delong of Schultz Surveying & Engineering, secretary; Michael Textor of Polsinelli PC, general counsel; Bill Adams of Conco Cos., adviser to the president; and Jerry Hackleman of DeWitt & Associates Inc., past president.

Retail
Meek’s Lumber Co. hired Chrystal Shotts as a kitchen, bath and cabinet design specialist. With a bachelor’s in housing and interior design from MSU, Shotts has 12 years of experience in estimating, merchandising, design and management.

Service
AmeriPride Services Inc.’s Springfield branch received the SafeTRSA Innovation Award and the Clean Green Innovation Award from the Textile Rental Services Association. The SafeTRSA award recognizes a company or facility for its demonstrated efforts to improve safety, and the Clean Green award honors novel approaches by companies to increase sustainability and reduce environmental impact.
