Anita Oplotnik, a senior investment management consultant and financial adviser at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, earned the firm’s family wealth adviser designation after completing an accreditation program. She has 27 years of financial-services experience.
Education
Charlie Hungerford, director of admissions at Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences of Southwest Baptist University, received the President’s Service Recognition Award from the Missouri Association for College Admission Counseling.
He was honored for more than five years of service and significant time dedicated to the association.
Drury University student newspaper The Mirror earned 12 awards from the Missouri College Media Association. First-place honors were for in-depth news reporting, website and cover designs, and information graphics.
The Farmers Insurance Thank America’s Teachers program selected Krista Armstrong of Everton Elementary School to receive a $2,500 educational grant. She is among 60 selected nationally through an online proposal.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services awarded Ozarks Technical Community College’s Early Childhood Education Center a $2,000 grant to participate in the Missouri Farm to Preschool Pilot Project. The goal is to strengthen the connection between children and healthy local foods.
Evangel University’s Enactus team placed as a regional champion at the Enactus Regional Competition. The event involved 25 universities and community colleges from 11 states, and Evangel now advances to the national competition May 15-17 in St. Louis.
Health Care
CoxHealth promoted Andy Hedgpeth to vice president of human resources from director of benefits and employee relations. He joined the health system in 2008 and holds a bachelor’s in psychology and human resources management, as well as an MBA with an emphasis in health care management from Missouri State University.
Dr. Shanti Yerra joined Ozarks Community Hospital’s Primary Care Clinic. Board-certified in internal medicine, she has 20 years of experience.
Law Johnnie Burgess joined Worsham Law Firm to practice estate planning and elder law as well as general civil litigation. Burgess holds a bachelor’s from MSU and a law degree from University of Missouri-Kansas City.
