The Missouri Bar Association selected Elliott, Robinson & Co. LLP partner Jacob Sanders to serve on the Missouri Judicial Performance Evaluation Committee. A certified public accountant, Sanders began serving the committee for the state’s appellate courts in March, and his term is scheduled to expire on Dec. 31, 2020.

Banking and Finance
Garrett Dowling, a managing partner for Modern Woodmen of America, received the certified fraternal field manager designation from the Fraternal Field Managers Association and Kinder Brothers International. Offered in 10 educational sections, the designation recognizes professional training communications, planning and leadership.

Springfield First Community Bank promoted DeAnn Floyd to chief credit officer and Lisa Schuder to assistant vice president. Floyd, who has 30 years of banking experience and is one of the bank’s six original staff members, holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Missouri Southern State University. Schuder, who also has been with the bank since it opened in 2008, has 16 years of experience.

Arvest Bank received the highest ranking among banking peers in the South Central and Southwest regions in the J.D. Power 2015 Retail Banking Satisfaction Study. It is Arvest’s seventh J.D. Power regional award.

RPS Financial Group Inc. hired Colton Moos as a financial representative selling Northwestern Mutual products.

Education
Nixa High School students Nicole Dixon, Madalyn Foley, Jarrod Griffin, Lexi Jackson, Ryan Knutson and Marina Tallman qualified for the National Leadership Conference of the Future Business Leaders of America after competing at the statewide FBLA competition.

College of the Ozarks biology professor Robert Snyder was named Conservation Educator of the Year at the Conservation Federation of Missouri Annual Awards. A professor at the college since 2007, Snyder previously worked as an agricultural adviser in Rwanda and as a director of Food for the Hungry in Mozambique and Kenya.

Little Sunshine’s Playhouse in Ozark hired Stacey Shepard as program director. Shepard holds a master’s in education, specializing in curriculum and instruction, along with a bachelor’s in psychology from Arizona State University. She has five years of teaching experience in Springfield.

Ozark North and East elementary schools earned Gold Level on the Missouri Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support Exemplar School list. The schools implemented the Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports program. Three other Ozark elementary schools advanced to PBIS’ Silver Level.

Government
As chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Missouri, appointed Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller to the Election Assistance Commission’s adviser board. The Help America Vote Act of 2002 established the commission and a 37-member board to assist the EAC. Schoeller is a former state representative from Springfield.

Hospitality
Myer Hotels, operators of six hotels in Branson, hired Wes Stoner as a sales manager. With 21 years of sales and marketing experience, he is responsible for developing and growing such markets as sports, faith-based groups and corporate and bank-club groups.

Insurance
Nixon & Lindstrom Insurance hired Serena Vallier as a marketing assistant in the employee-benefits department. She has eight years of administrative experience and a bachelor’s in psychology from Ashford University.

Nonprofit
Team Gettin’ Basted was named Grand Champion of the 2015 Rock’n Ribs BBQ Festival, while team Shake’n Bake BBQ was named Reserve Grand Champion. Connell Insurance Inc. took home the People’s Choice Award.

Through events such as Wingapalooza, Cashew Craze and the Sertoma Chili Cookoff, area Sertoma clubs donated over $172,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield, Ronald McDonald House, Child Advocacy Center, Children’s Smile Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks, the Victim Center, Every Child Promise, Smitty’s Mid-West Boxing Gym, CASA of Southwest Missouri and Lost & Found Grief Center.

Real Estate
Tom Kissee of Tom Kissee Real Estate Co. received the Graduate of Distinction Award from his alma mater, Oklahoma State University, in recognition of his professional and personal accomplishments in livestock and real estate marketing.

Technology
Penton Technology named JMark Business Solutions Inc. to the MSPmentor 501 Global Edition. The annual report identifies the world’s Top 501 managed service providers, and JMark ranked No. 121 globally and No. 101 in the U.S. based on client surveys and revenues.
