Education The Missouri Physical Therapy Association named April Fajardo Student of the Year for her work in the doctor of physical therapy program at Southwest Baptist University. Fajardo currently serves as co-chairwoman of the Global Health Project Committee of the American Physical Therapy Association’s National Student Assembly and has served on mission trips to Brazil and Haiti through SBU’s Global Health Outreach.
The Princeton Review named Drury University in its annual Guide to 353 Green Colleges. One of seven in Missouri, Drury was listed for sustainability efforts, such as geothermal heating and cooling at Stone Chapel and campus bike rentals.
Health Care Cox Medical Center South received the Healthgrades 2015 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence. Based on clinical performance, the award recognizes the top 5 percent of over 4,500 hospitals evaluated.
Cox Medical Center Branson employees were recognized in the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce’s Champions of Healthcare Awards. Dr. Peter Marcellus received the Community Caregiver Award, Carol Myers received the Family Advocate Award and Nathan Haynie and Jeanne Meyer won the Patient’s Choice Award. The Medical Innovator Award was presented to President and CEO William Mahoney for developing partnerships with community clinics and serving the uninsured.
