KPM CPAs PC staff accountants Katie Fulp, David Kendall, Michelle Vespa and Freddie Young completed certified public accounting examinations and earned their CPA licenses. Fulp, Kendall and Young earned master’s degrees in accountancy from Missouri State University, and Vespa, a one-year employee, has a bachelor’s in accounting from MSU.

Automotive
Beine Automotive Group owner Bob Beine was elected 2016 chairman of the Missouri Automobile Dealers Association. The owner of car dealerships in Republic and Carthage, Beine has served on the organization’s board since 2004.

Construction
Carri Godfrey joined Buddy Webb & Co. Inc. as a project manager. She has experience with several area firms, including Oke-Thomas and Associates Inc.

The American Council of Engineering Companies of Missouri presented the annual Grand Award to GeoEngineers Inc.’s Springfield office for the project, “Direct Pipe Crossing of Sabine Neches Waterway.” The award recognizes creative application and quality design.

Environment
LCS Kleen-Aire earned the Angie’s List Super Service Award, recognizing its service in 2015 to members of the local marketplace and consumer review site. About 5 percent of chimney and air duct cleaning companies in the region have received the award.

Health Care
Morgan Simpson, director of Citizens Memorial Hospital Sports Medicine Center, was selected for a National Athletic Trainer Service Award. Simpson is a licensed athletic trainer with a degree in sports medicine and athletic training from MSU.

Tara Ferguson joined Phoenix Home Care Inc. as director of strategic initiatives for its Missouri, Kansas and Colorado markets. Fergu has 20 years of health care experience and a master’s in human development from University of Oklahoma.  

Hospitality
John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts added Dave Bishop to the capital planning and asset management department in its Springfield headquarters. With 20 years of experience, he worked the last nine years as Springfield Public Schools’ director of facilities, buildings and grounds.

Media
SBJ Publishing Inc. promoted Mar’Ellen Felin to CEO of Hightide Communications. Formerly vice president of sales and creative services for Springfield Business Journal and Hightide Communications, she provides a la carte marketing and publishing services.

SBJ moved Todd Brierly to SBJ sales manager, and Ashley Clair to assistant sales manager. After nearly 18 months as an advertising account executive, and with 20 years of banking experience, Brierly now manages five salespeople. Clair, a two-year SBJ account executive, has experience as a retail sales manager. She facilitates team coaching activities in addition to her sales role.

Nonprofit
The Kitchen Inc. hired Sean Barnhill as community development manager. With a bachelor’s in communications from Drury University, he previously worked as a digital content producer at KY3 Inc. and now handles The Kitchen’s media relations, newsletters and social media.

Ozarks Regional YMCA hired Jessy Glair as executive director of the Pat Jones Family YMCA. She worked previously for the Greater Green Bay YMCA in Wisconsin and now manages daily branch operations and nine full-time and 180 part-time employees.

Retail
Nixa Police Department honored Nixa Hardware with the Crime-Free Business designation. Qualifying businesses complete a four-hour training session for owners and managers, and on-site security evaluations and reviews.

Copy Products Inc. named Springfield staff members Carolyn Johnson as 2015 Employee of the Year and Mark Gibson as Technician of the Year. Also, local salesmen Brian Mansker and Garrett Viles finished second and third, respectively, as Salesperson of the Year.
