Bolivar Technical College hired registered nurse Debra Britt as an instructor for its Certified Nurse Assistant Program. She joined BTC last year to instruct CNA students.
Kevin Morrison was hired as principal for Willard High School beginning in fall 2017. He currently is associate principal at Hazelwood West High School in the St. Louis area.
Field Elementary School principal Janell Bagwell was named Missouri National Distinguished Principal by the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals during its annual leadership conference. She was selected by her peers from a pool of 12 statewide.
Evangel University ranked third on the list of 25 Most Beautiful Colleges and Universities in the Midwest for 2017 by ChristianUniversitiesOnline.org.
Government
Sen. Bob Dixon, R-Springfield, received the inaugural Defender of the 6th Amendment Award at the Missouri State Public Defender Annual Spring Training Awards Dinner. As chairman of the Committee on the Judiciary and Civil and Criminal Jurisprudence, he was recognized for work in shepherding the Missouri Revised Criminal Code through the legislature. The U.S. constitutional amendment guarantees criminal defendants a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury, as well as the rights to legal counsel, select witnesses and cross-examinations.
Health Care
Crighton Olive Dunn Surgical Group Inc. was granted accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission in Vein Center in the area of superficial venous treatment and management.
Phoenix Home Care Inc. hired Ben Spickard as financial services controller. He previously worked as vice president with Bank of Missouri and oversaw Phoenix’s first loan during the company’s opening year in 2011.
Integrity Home Care Inc. appointed Robin Gladwill as director of program development and strategy. Gladwill joined Integrity in 2015 as regional director of operations for the St. Louis area and has 25 years of experience in the health care field.
Hospitality
O’Reilly Hospitality LLC hired Dee King as director of sales for Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott. She’s currently director of sales for the DoubleTree by Hilton, adjacent to construction of the Fairfield Inn, and will hold the position for both hotels upon completion.
Nonprofits
Champion Athletes of the Ozarks elected Brandon Bowenschulte to its board of directors. He is a small-business banking specialist for Commerce Bank.

My Movers Moving & Storage earned Wheaton World Wide Moving’s Total Quality Commitment Award. Owners Brad and Trish Pearson started My Movers in 2007 and have a combined 60 years of experience in the moving and storage industry.
In the 2016 Hilton Worldwide Brand Awards, DoubleTree by Hilton Springfield was recognized for Food and Beverage Excellence, the Crystal Cookie for Teaching Kids to Care and as a Travel with Purpose Brand. Owned by O’Reilly Hospitality Management, it was DoubleTree’s first food and beverage award, based on guest satisfaction scores, its second honor for a culture of caring about kids in the community, and its fourth for sustainability and reducing the carbon footprint of travelers.
