Accountancy
The Whitlock Co. hired staff accountants Chelsey Blackwell and Aaron Henry. Blackwell earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Drury University. Henry received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Missouri State University as well as a certificate in forensic accounting.

Banking
Old Missouri Bank named David McBeath its executive vice president and chief financial officer. McBeath, who has 30 years of banking experience, is responsible for financial and operational management and regulatory reporting.  McBeath is a graduate of the American Bankers Association’s National School of Bank Investments and Financial Management.

Peoples Bank of the Ozarks named Steve Hamm vice president of commercial lending. Hamm, a MSU graduate with 30 years of banking experience, is a former chairman of the Missouri Work Force Investment Board.

Government
The Missouri Senate approved the interim appointment of Robert Helm to the Missouri State Board of Accountancy, which certifies, examines, licenses and regulates public accountants. A managing partner at Elliot, Robinson & Co. LLP, Helm has 30 years of experience with the firm and has served on the Greene County Estate Planning Council.

Hospitality
John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts received the top rating among Embassy Suites Hotels for the sixth consecutive year in the Connie Awards.

Hammons Hotels’ La Vista Hotel & Conference Center in Omaha, Neb., was named the No. 1 Embassy Suites hotel for service performance. Hammons Hotels held the top three positions this year with properties in Loveland, Colo., and Murfreesboro, Tenn., taking the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively.

Properties were scored based on quality assurance audits measuring cleanliness, condition and adherence to brand standards, as well as customer ratings.

Joe Wadkins joined O’Reilly Hospitality Management as director of catering at Doubletree Hotel. Wadkins worked previously at University Plaza Hotel for 27 years.

Insurance
Great American Insurance Services named Deborah Coulter an agency manager. With several years of experience, Coulter is licensed to sell life, health, accident, and property and casualty insurance. Coulter is a graduate, moderator and national subcommittee member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors Leadership in Life Institute.

The Missouri State Council of Society for Human Resources Management named Connell Insurance partner Randall Gammill its 2012 state legislative director. Gammill works with state and federal elected officials and regulators to advocate on behalf of human resources professionals and employers.

A former employer consultant with the Missouri Division of Workers’ Compensation, Gammill currently specializes in workers’ compensation, self-insurance and human resources consulting.[[In-content Ad]]
