Education The Missouri School Boards’ Association selected the Nixa Public School Board of Education for the 2015 Outstanding Board of Education Award in School Finance. Nixa was one of 14 boards to receive performance awards across six categories.

The Ozark School Board hired Morgan Kelly and Jared Lotz as elementary school assistant principals. Kelly, who’s worked six years as an elementary teacher in Nixa Public Schools, will work at North Elementary. Lotz, who has seven years of experience with Ozark, moves to the assistant principal’s office from teaching elementary physical education.
Government The city of Springfield ranked No. 3 in a national study of Best Cities to Start a Business by personal finance website WalletHub. Springfield also was named as the top city for accessing startup resources due to ongoing, collective efforts to support entrepreneurs. The study analyzed startup opportunities in the 150 most populated U.S. cities across 13 metrics, including office affordability, employee availability and median annual income.
Manufacturing Mid America Metals in Ozark hired John Gardner as vice president of sales and marketing. Responsible for national sales accounts and business development, Gardner has 30 years of sales and marketing experience.
Nonprofit The Child Advocacy Center hired Amanda Connor as administrative assistant, Lisa Langley as a development associate and Kelly Dudley as a forensic interviewer.
