Construction Rebecca Welsh joined construction contract services firm Flynn Midwest LP as Springfield branch manager. She worked most recently for 10 years with DeWitt & Associates Inc., where she served as project manager for several construction jobs at Mercy and Freeman health systems.
Education The public school boards in Bolivar, Branson, Nixa, Reeds Spring and Republic were among 23 statewide to receive a 2015 Governance Team Award from the Missouri School Boards’ Association. The honor recognizes professional development in student achievement, school law and finance, and board operations.
Missouri State University’s MBA program ranked No. 75 in the 2015 Best Online Programs for Veterans list published by U.S. News. Schools recognized are certified for the GI Bill and participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program, both initiatives that help veterans reduce the cost of school.
Evangel University students Jami McConnell and Ally Walsh received $1,000 as semifinalists in the annual Venture Creation Challenge at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. In the business-plan pitch, McConnell and Walsh created Ride417, a nonprofit that provides free, confidential rides to college students who are impaired drivers or in unsafe situations.

Media 417 Magazine added three members to its sales team: Brittany Airey, Marty Goodnight and Drew Owen. Airey, who holds a bachelor’s from California State University, has previous experience with Longview Consulting in California. Goodnight brings 17 years of print and digital media experience to 417 Magazine, having worked previously for the Springfield News-Leader and The Kansas City Star. Owen holds a bachelor’s from Drury University and worked previously for 417 Bride.
