Kelly Buescher joined Advanced Plan Designs LLC as a senior plan consultant. Buescher, a certified public accountant with a master’s degree from the University of Central Missouri, has 10 years of experience and worked previously at KPM CPAs PC and BKD LLP.

Agriculture
The American Farm Bureau Federation elected Aurora beef cattle rancher Glen Cope 2012 chairman of the AFBF Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee. Cope, a fourth generation rancher, earned a bachelor’s in animal science from Missouri State University.

Banking
Old Missouri Bank hired Bonnie Murdock as assistant vice president of loan operations and Emily Bradley as a loan operations assistant. Murdock, who has 34 years of banking experience, is a past member and chairwoman of the Missouri Banker’s Association Compliance Committee. Bradley, who has 11 years of industry experience, worked previously as a loan assistant with Empire Bank.

Education
Nixa Public Schools named Josh Chastain principal of the newly approved John Thomas School of Discovery magnet school, and appointed Alysia Ackerman to succeed Chastain as principal at Summit Intermediate School for the 2012–13 school year. Marilyn Hanna was named principal at High Pointe Elementary.

Central High School art teacher Kevin Kloppenberg was named secondary 2012 Missouri Art Educator of the Year by the Missouri Art Education Association.
 
Engineering
A2V Partners LLC named Jeff Wooldridge senior professional engineer responsible for system protection, planning and modeling for A2V’s electric utility clients. Wooldridge previously worked as manager of protection and planning at Empire District Electric in Joplin.

Government
Gov. Jay Nixon appointed four area businesspeople to state boards: John Cowherd, of Mount Vernon, Clean Water Commission; Brian Fogle, of Springfield, Coordinating Board for Higher Education; Bradley Gregory, of Bolivar, Missouri Development Finance Board; and Beverly Miller, of Lebanon, Missouri State University Board of Governors. Cowherd is an attorney and a bar examiner for the Missouri Supreme Court Board of Bar Examiners. Fogle is president and CEO of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. Gregory is president and CEO of Bank of Bolivar. Miller, a graduate of Missouri State University, has taught in the sociology departments at Drury and Missouri State universities and served as director of the American Red Cross Lebanon office.

JMark Business Solutions Inc., Pure Earth Soaps LLC and Superior Rents & Sales Inc. were among 22 small businesses in Missouri honored by members of the General Assembly at a business showcase in Jefferson City.
