Banking and Finance Justin Setser, a financial adviser and assistant vice president with State Bank of Southwest Missouri, passed the certified financial planner exam. Setser has worked for the bank since 2008 and holds a bachelor’s in accounting from Southeast Missouri State University and an MBA from Missouri State University.
Guaranty Bank promoted Krystal Kauffman to vice president from internal audit officer and Jeremy Thomas to assistant retail banking manager from personal banking representative. Kauffman joined the bank in 2007 and holds a bachelor’s in accounting from Central Methodist University and an MBA from Webster University. Thomas, who works at the Battlefield Road banking center, joined Guaranty Bank in 2009 and holds a bachelor’s in city planning from MSU.
BluCurrent Credit Union hired Caroline Richardson as manager of its Sunset branch and named Mandy Oxendine its mortgage support manager. Richardson, a graduate of Laine Theatre Arts in Surrey, England, has 15 years of management experience. Oxendine has worked for BluCurrent since 2004 and has nine years of consumer lending experience.
Metropolitan National Bank hired Dalton Morris as a credit analyst. On the bank’s credit review team, Morris works with customers seeking an extended line of credit. He holds an MBA from MSU.
Education White River Valley Electric Cooperative’s Operation Round Up program awarded over $52,000 in grants to 104 educators from Douglas, Stone, Taney, Christian and Ozark counties. The grants provide funding for innovative classroom-based projects.
Government Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., was selected to rejoin the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence in the 114th Congress. The committee, which Blunt previously served in 2011 and 2012, oversees and funds the nation’s intelligence activities.
The Branson Fire Department received a $1,000 donation from Dr. Joy Watson of the Healing Tree Health Club and the Lazarus Foundation. The department purchased a Skedco Tri-pod for rescue operations.
The city of Springfield received an unmodified opinion on its financial statement audit from independent auditing firm BKD LLP. Unmodified is the highest achievable level of opinion.
Sgt. Jeff Fugett of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D was awarded the 2014 John Michael Letz Award, the highest award presented by the Missouri Law Enforcement Torch Run program. The award recognizes Fugett’s 11 years of dedication to the Torch Run and to the Special Olympics Missouri athletes in the area.
Erin Hedlun was named public information officer for Springfield-Greene County’s Office of Emergency Management. Hedlun holds a bachelor’s in communications and electronic media from Evangel University.
